1966 — Grand Opening

December 22, 1966: residents started moving in. 
There were 182 units available: 32 studios; 60 “efficiency” 1-bedrooms; 48 1-bedrooms; 24 2-bedrooms; 6 2-bedroom cottages; 12 2-bedroom cottages with garage.
There was also a 15 bed skilled nursing facility.

1977 — Health Center Expansion

In 1977, the Health Center was expanded to 49 beds.  The addition included a day room with kitchenette, an arts and crafts room, a dining room, and three lounges.  New equipment included an ultrasound stimulator for physical therapy and a deep seated hot tub with hydraulic lift.

1983 — "North" Addition (Zone 1)

In 1983, 42 new units were added at the north end of the campus, accessed by a new street, Mas Amigos.  These are the first residential units on the outside of the Senda Verde loop.  Covered parking and a central clubhouse were included.

1987 — “West” Addition (Zone 5, Casa Amigos, Quail Lodge and 2nd Health Center Expansion)

This expansion included 28 new apartments west of Senda Verde.

It also included 43 personal care units (Quail Lodge), 26 new skilled nursing beds, and the Casa Amigos complex (including La Tienda, pool, multipurpose rooms, and library).

On the following map, the expansion included everything above Senda Verde, except for the pre-existing maintenace building.

2014 — “Master Plan”

The “Master Plan” included 40 new 2-bedroom homes, a cafe, a new fitness center, an expanded adminstration building with guest rooms, 3 new clubhouses, new parking areas and new landscaping.
